When collecting someone from the airport at the arrivals terminal, you can check on the progress of the flight and check to see if there are any delays. Usually passengers take around 30 mins to get to the arrivals hall after their flight has landed at RAK airport. This all depends on how quick they can get through passport control and any security they may undertake.
The time it takes to collect luggage from the carousel can vary depending on how busy the airport is. While you wait for the flight to arrive there are plenty of opportunities to have a coffee and sit and wait if needed.
Procedure when arriving at Marrakesh airport
Passport Control
Once you land at Marrakech airport and leave the plane, please have your passport at hand ready to show to the airport security staff. They may ask the reason for the visit. Then they will stamp your passport, if not it is a good idea to ask them to please stamp it.
Baggage Reclaim
Once through security, make your way to baggage reclaim. There are visible signs along the terminal directing the route, to pick up the luggage that you checked-in at your departure airport. Screens in the airport will show your flight number above the carousel that your luggage will be on. Make sure you collect your own luggage as many cases and bags look the same. It’s a good tip to have some kind of unique identification to indicate this is your piece of luggage. If you have a number of bags to collect, trollies are provided to wheel your baggage.
Customs
After you have collected your luggage you can then proceed through customs. Enter through the red zone if you have items to declare for bringing into Morocco and the green zone if you have nothing to declare.
Once through customs continue out into the arrivals hall where your journey is complete!
